These desserts went down a treat with my son and his friends at his third birthday pirate party.
Ingredients
2 oranges
1 packet tangerine jelly
coloured paper or thin card
cocktail sticks
Method
1 Finely slice each end off the end of the oranges.
2 Slice each orange in half.
3 Squeeze out the juice, scrape out any excess flesh.
4 Make up a tangerine jelly (it is not as bitter as the orange variety), but use the juice of the orange instead of water, but then top up with water.
5 Slightly cool the jelly.
6 Meanwhile place the orange halves on a baking sheet.
7 Pour the jelly into the empty orange shells.
8 Place the oranges in the fridge to set.
9 When set slice each half an orange into half.
10 Make a sail out of coloured paper or very thin card.
11 Place a cocktail stick down the middle of each sail.
12 Push a sail into each jelly.
